WHITE BEANS WITH SPINACH
White kidney beans — so named due to their convex shape that resembles the kidney — are among the best foods for helping you lose weight due to their high fiber content, which leaves you feeling full for longer and keeps food cravings at bay.
Cooking time : 25 minutes serves : 4
Ingredients;-
- white beans – 2 cups (soaked for at least 6 hrs )
- spinach – 1 bunch
- green chillies – 6
- olive oil 1tsp
- salt
- garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- onion -1 (chopped finely)
- tomatoes – 3 (chopped finely)
- ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Method :
Wash and soak the white beans for atleast 6 hrs. Wash the spinach and cut it roughly . Blanch it in a cup of hot water along with green chillies. After cooling ,grind and make a paste. Keep aside.
Take a pressure cooker, add 1 tsp olive oil and fry onion. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute. After the raw smell goes away , add the chopped tomatoes, 1 tsp garam masala powder and salt. Add the white beans and the spinach paste. add one and half cup water. Close the lid and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
Serve hot with chappatis or rice.
