ORANGE CAKE

This is a very simple orange cake recipie with buttercream frosting and orange syrup.

Ingredients :-

  • @  4 eggs
  • @  1 cups sugar
  • @  1/3 cup butter
  • @  2 cups flour
  • @  2 teaspoons baking powder
  • @   1/2 teaspoon salt
  • @  1/2 cup fresh orange juice zest from 1 or 2 oranges.
  • @  1 teaspoon vanilla
  • @  1/2 cup buttermilk

METHOD:-
Preheat your oven to 350° F (180° C). Grease and flour a bundt pan. If using fresh oranges, zest and juice them.

With an electric mixer or by hand, beat together the butter and sugar until thick. Gradually beat in the buttermilk. And eggs.

Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt, and then the orange juice. Beat until smooth, and then mix in the zest and vanilla. Add the wet ingredients into dry ones and beat to form a smooth batter.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan, and bake for about 40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 to 20 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to finish frosting.

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp unsalted butter ( softened)
  • 1/2 cup (powdered) sugar
  • A small pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp milk or heavy cream

Method:-

Beat butter for a few minutes . Add powdered sugar and beat until the sugar has been incorporated with the butter. Add vanilla extract, salt, milk/cream and beat for 3 minutes. If your frosting needs a more stiff consistency, add remaining sugar.
Put in a piping bag with nozzle and decorate alternatively with one line of vanilla frosting and another of thick orange syrup.
If you dont have orange syrup just melt 2 tsp orange jam with 1 tsp water. Cool and use.
I read orange cake tastes best the second day. I dont know because i did not taste it on
the first day. 🙂

    Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite
    reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of.
    I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
