PALAK CHICKEN is one of the most popularly famous dishes of north india. I first tasted this at the home of a kashmiri family friend. Their i fell in love with it.  yummy chicken with the goodness of spinach. Even my toddlers eat it happily coz no curries leaves and tomato bits need to be taken out 🙂 from this.
Preparation time : 30 mnts
serves 6

  • Chicken 1/2 kg
  • spinach – 1 whole bunch
  • whole garam masala powder – 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes – 2 finely chopped
  • kasoori methi – 1 tsp
  • cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1tsp
  • olive oil – 1sp ( add more oil if u omit the cream)
  • low fat cream – half cup

Clean and wash the chicken pieces and drain. wash the spinach and blanch it in hot water for few mnts and grind with 3 green chillies into a smooth paste. Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel add finely chopped onions and after they have browned lightly add ginger garlic paste. Add the chicken pieces and garam masala. If you can make fresh garam masala powder it is more tastier. (2 cloves ,2 cardamoms ,1 bay leaf, 5 peppercorns ,1 brown cardamom ,3″piece cinnamom ). Add cumin powder , coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt .

After the chicken is almost cooked add the finely cut tomatoes . Then the  spinach paste for a few minutes. Now add the crushed  dry fenugreek leaves and cover and cook for 2 minutes. Switch off the stove. Just before serving top it with  a  dollop of fresh cream and serve hot with phulkas or rice.

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than
just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and all.
However think about if you added some great graphics or videos to give your posts
more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics
and videos, this site could certainly be one of the best in its niche.

    Amazing blog!
